Concept cars are a rage, no doubt and Toyota has been well known for its IT skills all over the world. But recently it astonished people with the launch of its two door Fun-Vii as it wasn’t one of Toyota’s genre. The car that looked more like a giant computer mouse was more hip than an example of company’s high end engineering skills.

The car comes equipped with chic gadgety bolt-ons, navigation concierge and series of panel to change the look of car. Many functions can also be controlled with a smartphone. However, there are few features that no other car would love to incorporate in their cars. Can you believe a car to have a human-looking hologram discussing directions and diverting driver’s attention?

Experts believe that Toyota has lost its mind by designing a car which will demean the company’s reputation. No doubt the car will get eyeballs at the auto shows and attention from the media, but we wonder how many people will actually buy such a concept car.

This year’s show will also see Toyota celebrate a decade of its full hybrid technology. Toyota’s Versa-S, which is slated to make its debut in the B-MPV market, will be launched at the Paris Auto Show before it is introduced to the market. It will hit the market early next year. The concept that drives the Verso-S is- “small, smart and spacious”.

The Verso-S, at less than 4 meters, is the shortest car in the whole of Europe’s MPV market and the practical design, flexible interior and comfortable built makes this car a great car. Toyota has also said that it will introduce a series of upgrades to the Aygo and iQ. The iQ will get a complete revamp for its interior so as to enhance the quality, whereas the Aygo will get new colour scheme and a brand new multimedia system.

For Toyota, the Paris Auto Show will be primarily about the Hybrid Synergy Drive technology, as it will celebrate the success of the recently launched Auris HSD (built in the UK). The Auris HSD is the first full hybrid car in the C-segment. This is not all for Toyota; the list of things to celebrate for doesn’t end here. Toyota will also celebrate the success of the European Prius, which has passed the 200,000 mark. Overall we can say that this year’s Auto show in Paris seems to be all about Toyota.

The Detroit Auto Show, which kicks off next month, is expected to be used as a fitting platform for the launch a hybrid concept by Toyota Motor Corporation. Toyota is the biggest name in the world when it comes to selling gasoline-electric hybrid cars. The model will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show and would be available only as a hybrid. This model has taken the total number of hybrids to seven which the automaker sells in the U.S. under its namesake and Lexus brands.

Prius which has the combination of an electric motor and a gasoline engine makes up for the major chunk of global hybrid sale for the company. According to Jim Hossack who is an industry analyst, the rise in the prices of gasoline may see a rapid growth in the demand of the stagnant market for the hybrid models. Toyota plans to begin the retail sale of a plug-in version of the Prius very soon which can be recharged using a household electric outlet. The mass sale of these vehicles may get delayed though because of the increasing cost of the batteries.

According to a study, the cost of the rechargeable autos may cost $18,000 more than a conventional gasoline car because of the lithium-ion batteries. Batteries are expected to get cheaper by 2030 and would go a long way in reducing the oil use and carbon pollution. Coming back to the new hybrid, the company has not revealed much information about the concept apart from the couple of teaser images.

Here comes interesting news that most of us might have imagined to have sometime in future. Toyota , a well-known automobile maker has announced that it is working on a solar powered car. Yes, you heard me right, you will soon get to drive a solar powered car designed and developed by Toyota .

As per The Nikkei, Toyota is working on a solar powered car model, which will be better than a Prius with its solar panel. This car will also let you run the A/C. This one will be a completely solar powered car unlike any other solar car ever made in the world.

After facing a major operating loss in 70 years, Toyota went ahead with this idea of a solar powered car to take the market by storm for getting huge profits. This car will be made to work with the solar efficiency and some of the carʼs energy will be grabbed from the solar panels of the car itself and some will be derived from the solar panels on oneʼs house.

Expectations are that Toyota will release this 100% solar powered car in the near future and will competition to the proud Prius owners.

The amount spent by Toyota on its team is more than any other team. Now, to boost the performance of its team, Toyota has invested in its new concept car called Toyota TF108.

With features and shape different from its 2007 predecessor, Toyota TF108 Concept Car sports a narrow nose appealing design. Toyota in fact developed an upper wing profile to blend into the nose of this concept car but the idea was abandoned and instead went with a new design spanning the entire length over the nose, something similar to that on the McLaren Mercedes.

Retaining the twin/ zero-keel arrangement, Toyota TF108 Concept Car helps to keep disruptions to airflow underneath the nose down in a minimum way. This twin-keel design works well with the sidepods pulled in tighter at the bottom. Previously, this car model incorporated square-like radiator inlets that were less effective.

Chimneys and the t-wing located out of the sidepods are other interesting features of Toyota TF108 Concept Car. This car has been designed to provide ultimate stability with its control systems.
