At the recently held 2011 New York Auto Show, the fourth generation of the Subaru Impreza was unveiled. Two versions of the car is available, sedan and hatchback.

Even though, the current versions were specially created for the U.S market, the European market is also expected to get it soon. The 2012 Impreza will be available for sale in the United States later this year.

The latest model of the Impreza is quite similar to the current model in terms of size. Furthermore, the company expects to be able to sell over 60,000 units of this car per year.

Amongst the major features of the new 2012 Impreza is the addition of extra space due to the added length of 25 mm. The frame of the doors of Subaru Impreza is designed in a way to give more space at the shoulders and elbows for people sitting inside.

There are no major mechanical changes in the car. However, all models would feature standard VDC (Vehicle Dynamics Control). Moreover, the combustion chamber has been compressed to reduce emissions and increase efficiency.

Larger than the previous Outback, the 2010 Subaru Outback goes along the lead of the 2010 Subaru Legacy. The Outback that has been unveiled at the New York auto show and is scheduled to go on sale in August will be available with Subaru’s true crossover, Tribeca.

The Subaru Outback would get 256-horsepower 3.6-liter flat-6. Besides, the Outback will ride on a wheelbase more or less alike to the Tribeca’s. The Outback has been built on a new platform as the 2010 Legacy; however, the Outback is 2 inches wider across the shoulders and has a 107.9-inch wheelbase. The results are that there is a substantial increase in the front hiproom, rear shoulder room and rear legroom.

Overall passenger volume has been increased from 8 cubic feet to 105.4. The enlarged cargo room is supported by a new double-wishbone rear suspension. If you still need room to put away your stuffs on the roof, then you can enjoy the benefits of the new roof rack of the Outback that has fold-away crossbars.

To remain the most off-road-worthy among any U.S.-market wagon, the ground clearance ends up 0.3 inch to 8.7. The base tires are 215/70R16s, however the H6-equipped Outback in Subaru’s booth wore P225/60R17 89T Continentals. The trim level are 2.5i Limited and 2.5i, 2.5i Premium for the four-cylinder Outback.

Additional innovative features that one can find in the Subaru Outback include Bluetooth for audio devices, electronic parking brake, iPod integration and a navigation system that supports a back-up camera and voice recognition.
