Last month Hyundai showcased its newest automobile of the hybrid-electric program at the Paris Motor Show. The Hyundai Santa Fe blue Hybrid marks a strong step towards innovation of the hybrid models manufactured by the company. While the Elantra LPI awaits July 2009 to spread its wings, the Santa Fe blue Hybrid gives a glimpse of the brand’s new family hybrid system.
The Santa Fe blue Hybrid includes a powerful 30Kw electric motor which works as a generator to charge its 270V lithium polymer batteries. It features a sturdy 2.4 liter gasoline engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission system. Its superior engine shutoff/restart system reduces idle time for the gas engine. Utilizing Li-Poly batteries, the model achieves higher energy density and longer life, and the electronic power steering minimizes parasitic engine losses.
