Larger than the previous Outback, the 2010 Subaru Outback goes along the lead of the 2010 Subaru Legacy. The Outback that has been unveiled at the New York auto show and is scheduled to go on sale in August will be available with Subaru’s true crossover, Tribeca.

The Subaru Outback would get 256-horsepower 3.6-liter flat-6. Besides, the Outback will ride on a wheelbase more or less alike to the Tribeca’s. The Outback has been built on a new platform as the 2010 Legacy; however, the Outback is 2 inches wider across the shoulders and has a 107.9-inch wheelbase. Overall passenger volume has been increased from 8 cubic feet to 105.4. The enlarged cargo room is supported by a new double-wishbone rear suspension. To remain the most off-road-worthy among any U.S.-market wagon, the ground clearance ends up 0.3 inch to 8.7. The trim level are 2.5i Limited and 2.5i, 2.5i Premium for the four-cylinder Outback.

This amazing car has been designed by Michelle Christensen. Jeff Conrad who is the vice president of sales for Acura is of the opinion that the mix of sports coupe and sports utility has given the ZDX the opportunity to create a brand new segment altogether and would attract new customers. According to him, it is a luxury performance coupe. Although the previous version looked a little truck-like, the ZDX looks mostly like a sedan. The roof which has a slope rally looks spectacular and its tinted glasses and the rear valance panel and taillights are amazingly blended and are almost seamless.

It must be said that the designer has been quite successful in with the exterior as well as the interior. ZDX has the sculpted instrument panel which is typical of the Acura design. Its two-tone scheme which is trimmed in stitched leather gives it a really plush look. The car also has a huge functional cargo space and under floor storage. Plus, the ZDX sports shield grille and sharp style that spreads across the entire line-up. The rear door handles have been hidden in the base of the C-pillar by the designers. It is expected to arrive in the market by the fall of 2009.
