15th Oman International Motor Show 2010 was in fact the ultimate destination for all car lovers. This motor show had a record number of national pavilions that represented countries like China, India, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey, Italy and UAE. This auto expo was first organized by Omanexpo in the year 1990.

This four day event also gave away Classic Car Display Awards to some select winners. This year’s show had a new entry in the form of Invader Technologies Co., Ltd from Japan and Saud Bahwan Group. This whole event was supported by Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

15th Oman International Motor Show 2010 also received many renowned visitors this time. Many automobile makers launched their new car models in this show. Lexus unleashed its all-new 2010 Lexus IS 350C car model. More such models were displayed in this automobile show.

The Lexus LFA was introduced as a concept car way back in 2005 and very few would have expected that they would be able to produce this beauty out of it. It shows that Lexus has put in everything in creating this gem of a sports car.

The Lexus LFA has a V10 engine of 4.8 liter and its 552 hp engine with 10 cylinders that enables it to move at 60 miles/hr on an average. It is made of carbon polymer, hence making it lightweight but by no means does it mean it isn’t strong. It is a very strong and powerful vehicle.

The production of this beauty starts in December this year in Japan and they have set a target to built 20 cars per month and will roll out 500 units. However, it isn’t very simple to buy this car. You will have to send an application to Lexus and they will let you know if you can actually purchase it. It is priced at $350,000.

Not many would have expected Hyundai to unveil its latest high end vehicle in a small city of South Korea. This year’s Busan International Motor Show saw the unveiling of one of the most highly awaited cars of recent times, the Hyundai Elantra, also called Avante in South Korea.

To the surprise of many car lovers across the world, Hyundai chose this small port city to showcase one of its best creations. However, it has to be considered that Hyundai has many factories in the adjoining areas, so it wasn’t totally uncalled for. The Busan Auto Show also is a very highly regarded motor extravaganza and has been witness to the launch of several cars from a variety of manufacturers.

This latest car has Hyundai’s engine that has a capacity of 1.6-litre and has the option of direct injection. It also has a six speed auto transmission and this could considerably improve fuel mileage. In addition to these features, it has heated seats, LED taillights and other regular features typical of Hyundai cars. Hyundai’s Elantra is one of its highest selling cars and has a huge market base with very little competition.

Since, its launch in 1990, Hyundai has sold over 6 million Elantras worldwide. The all new Elantra is Hyundai’s highest volume model and naturally a great car. Elantra already has a legacy and doesn’t need any introduction. The latest Elantra is truly a driver’s delight and has stunning looks to compliment the advanced features. It is sure to create some buzz amongst all the car lovers.

Apart from the real estate, the auto industry is certainly the sector which has born the brunt of the ongoing recession. Although automaker giants like General Motors and Chrysler have hit an all time low, the car industry must carry on. The San Diego International Auto Show which was scheduled for 30th December was something which made people realize what they were missing if they had never been to a motor show. The show held at the San Diego Convention Centre. It ended on the 3rd of January.

The Auto Show showcased some of the most wonderful cars from all across the world and the best part was that people checked out the cars without being pestered by the salesman. The show gave a platform to unveil some of the latest editions from Porsche, Mercedes and Hummer. It also showcased different models of Chevys, Fords, Hondas and Toyotas. The 500,000 square feet of display will highlight many new vehicles including concept and exotic cars. The special feature of this year’s show was the Camp Jeep San Diego. It was an adventure zone which allowed 4×4 drivers to experience and judge their driving capabilities.

The show also had the Toyota Start Something Drive Centre, the Ford Ride and Drive and Kia Ride and Drive for those who are interested in taking some small test drives. Another major attraction of the San Diego Auto Show this year was the Tesla. The all-electric Roadster was on display for the first time and had both its vehicles, the 2010 Roadster Sport and 2010 Roadster exhibited on the show.

The Motor Show was held at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre and exhibitors displayed almost all the leading manufactures’ products across its eight halls. The Green initiatives taken up by the automobile giants received a lot of attention at this prestigious show which is held after every two years. The concept of sustainable mobility also seemed to gather much momentum in the Middle East Region. Luxury brands like Rolls-Royce, Mercedes Benz and BMW along with Aston Martin, Bentley and other major brands made their presence felt at the Motor Show. AC cars like Luxgen and Shelby Supercars were also unveiled at the show.

The response and the sustained commitment of the global motor industry made the 10th anniversary of the show very memorable. The show was also marked as the 10th and 20th anniversary of BMW and Lexus respectively. The German manufacturer of the luxury Audi also had many of its latest lightweight models like A5 on display which is a sportsback car is 5-car Coupe concept. The A5 cabriolet and the stunning Audi R8 V10 were among the other cars that were showcased by Audi at the Show this year.

With a range of beautiful new models intended to showcase its commitment to sustainable mobility, BMW is all set for the 2009 Dubai International Motor Show which is expected to be held between 15th and 20th of December this year. BMW is planning to unveil as many as 12 new models at the upcoming show. The models include the new BMW 760Li Individual Edition, BMW Gran Turismo, X5M, X1 and X5 10th year anniversary edition.

BMW’s commitment to sustainable mobility will be demonstrated by Models like BMW Active Hybrid 7 and Active Hybrid X6. The phase one of the Efficient Dynamics strategy of the company has already seen over 1.5 million vehicles being fitted with Efficient Dynamics technologies. The paths to zero-emission cars have been very rosy for the company and they have been able to achieve a lot of success. The launch of BMW Active Hybrid and X6 models would mean that the phase two of the Efficient Dynamics strategy has been activated. These two vehicles would also integrate to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

The attendees would be informed about the strategy by a BMW Active Hybrid expert who has been called upon from Munich. The Joy marketing campaign launched by the company would be pivotal to the company’s communications at the Show. Phil Horton who is the MD of the BMW group in the Middle East said that the Show would be used as an opportunity by the company to showcase the new models and advances that BMW has made in design and sustainable mobility.
