Chevrolet ready to display Spark Woody at the 2010 Paris Auto Show

chevrolet_spark-woody Chevrolet recently released the details of the latest Spark Woody, which is Chevy’s art car set to be showcased at the Auto Show in Paris later this year. The details include specifics regarding the car as well a number of images.

This car carries the tradition of the ‘50s and ‘60s in North America, when such vehicles were brought by the surfers. Such cars are generally big vehicles with bodywork framed with timber. However, the Spark Woody isn’t built of wood like the original woodies but has been covered Di-Noc wood grained vinyl paneling, which maintains the woody effect.

Renault DeZir to debut this fall at the 2010 Paris Auto Show

It is a two-seater concept model and has gull wing doors which open in the opposite directions. This electric car will also be Renault’s new design head’s first product. The color scheme will be red and white.

Denver Auto Show goes green The illustrious Denver Auto Show is all set to kick off on 7th of April at the Denver Convention Centre. The first edition of the show was held in 1902 and consequently it has a great history. The Colorado Automobile Dealer Association has the responsibility to present the show this year. Unlike last year where people witnessed new autos with classic rubbing tires, this year the focus would be “green”.

Although the news may bring a huge surprise to many faces, it is indeed true that Ferrari is going to showcase its first official hybrid product at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show which will kick start in March this year. The decision of the company to finally take on the hybrid turf has not affected the image of the company in any way. The hybrid that would be put on the display will be a 599 GTB Fiorano.

The Washington Auto Show which held from 27 to 31 January is known to be the perfect platform for new models. The Washington Convention Center was the venue for this year’s show. The influx of billions of dollars from Capitol Hill has meant that this year edition would be of a much higher profile. Apart from the real estate, the auto industry is certainly the sector which has born the brunt of the ongoing recession. The Detroit Auto Show, which kicks off next month, is expected to be used as a fitting platform for the launch a hybrid concept by Toyota Motor Corporation. Toyota is the biggest name in the world when it comes to selling gasoline-electric hybrid cars. The model will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show and would be available only as a hybrid. This model has taken the total number of hybrids to seven which the automaker sells in the U.S. under its namesake and Lexus brands.

The Los Angeles Auto Show which is going to be held next month would be used a launch pad by Porsche to unveil a lightweight addition to the Boxster range. The new car has improved styling and power with a better handling and a reduction in its weight. The new Boxster Spyder has a low slung soft top and it stretches more than the base and S cars. The car also has a similar look to the Carrera GT supercar with lower side windows and a rear lid.

Subaru Outback at New York auto show

Larger than the previous Outback, the 2010 Subaru Outback goes along the lead of the 2010 Subaru Legacy. The Outback that has been unveiled at the New York auto show and is scheduled to go on sale in August will be available with Subaru’s true crossover, Tribeca.

The Subaru Outback would get 256-horsepower 3.6-liter flat-6. Besides, the Outback will ride on a wheelbase more or less alike to the Tribeca’s. The Outback has been built on a new platform as the 2010 Legacy; however, the Outback is 2 inches wider across the shoulders and has a 107.9-inch wheelbase. The results are that there is a substantial increase in the front hiproom, rear shoulder room and rear legroom.

Overall passenger volume has been increased from 8 cubic feet to 105.4. The enlarged cargo room is supported by a new double-wishbone rear suspension. If you still need room to put away your stuffs on the roof, then you can enjoy the benefits of the new roof rack of the Outback that has fold-away crossbars.
