Although the news may bring a huge surprise to many faces, it is indeed true that Ferrari is going to showcase its first official hybrid product at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show which will kick start in March this year. The decision of the company to finally take on the hybrid turf has not affected the image of the company in any way. The hybrid that would be put on the display will be a 599 GTB Fiorano.

Nissan Leaf grabs hold of Green Car Vision award

The Nissan Leaf grabbed the Green Car Vision award ahead of some wonderful cars like the Coda Automative’s sedan, the F-cell, the Ford Focus BEV and the Toyota Prius at the Washington Auto Show this year. A nominee for the award can be an exclusively new model or a revised version of an existing model. The press conference held after the award showed that there have been 38,000 people who have given their pre-orders.

Apart from the real estate, the auto industry is certainly the sector which has born the brunt of the ongoing recession. The Detroit Auto Show, which kicks off next month, is expected to be used as a fitting platform for the launch a hybrid concept by Toyota Motor Corporation. Toyota is the biggest name in the world when it comes to selling gasoline-electric hybrid cars. The model will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show and would be available only as a hybrid. This model has taken the total number of hybrids to seven which the automaker sells in the U.S. under its namesake and Lexus brands.
