The 2010 New York Auto Show is all set to stage the launch of the 2011 Kia Optima. The car is expected to be available in the market in the upcoming fall. The car is an attempt of the company to redesign the styling theme of the brand.
The car is built on the similar lines to the Kia cars of the previous generation. The Kia Optima is similar in dimensions to its corporate cousin, the 2011 Hyundai Sonata. It is expected to be much lower and wider than the earlier Kia cars. The raked roofline and high shoulders of the flanks give the saloon an athletic look. It has wide wheelbase and wheelarches that give the vehicle a muscular stance.
The piercing projector headlamps of the car also enhance its look a great deal. The chief Design Officer of Kia, Peter Schreyer feels that the next generation of the car is definitely going to surprise a lot of people. The car would come as an unexpected surprise from Kia that achieves the objective that was set by the company.
The exterior design of the car has a European feel and was designed by the team of the Kia’s chief designer Gregory Guilaume in Frankfurt while the design team in California has been credited for the outstanding interior. The D-segment car has world class safety equipments and is also very spacious. The cabins of the car are driver oriented which make it a truly global car that has individual appeal.
