tms-1The Tokyo Motor Show that officially begun from October 24 is making the headlines with some of the major automakers making a few announcements and unveiling at the largest auto event of the East. Carmakers like Suzuki, Honda and Mitsubishi have shown what is in store from them already. Suzuki has three concept cars lined up which include the Alto which is a mini, a hybrid of the Swift and the latest version of the SX4-FCV, which was launched in 2008. The Swift has a battery range of 12 miles and gets its power from the 660cc engine. The SX4-FCV has the 80kW GM fuel cell stack which would soon hit the production factory.

tms-2Mitsubishi planned a major release with as many as 16 cars in their coveted list. Ten out of those models are set to qualify for eco-car tax incentives at Japan. The PX-MiEV hybrid and the i-MiEV Cargo are the models worth mentioning when you talk about the concept car of the company. The latter is an extended version of the former and has a very spacious cargo and would possibly be delivered in smaller fleets.

Honda is also planning to make a mark on the show and use the platform to reveal its three brand new concepts. The highly innovative CR-Z prototype, an electric mini called the EV-N and a six seater hybrid known as the Skydeck are the ones that would bear the Honda flag at the Tokyo Motor Show.

Hyundai Santa Fe blue Hybrid Rocked The Paris Motor Show

The Hyundai Santa Fe blue Hybrid is a good contender in the eco-friendly market. I like the openness provided by the 3 panel glass roof, and the fuel efficiency. It will make a great family vehicle if it goes into production.
