Recently, Shanghai became the ramp for local car models. Yes, we are talking about the great Shanghai Auto Show that showcased the western car models made in China. Held in city’s Pudong district between April 20-28, this auto show has become the ideal place for the domestic automakers to steal the limelight by launching their new car models.
In the Shanghai Auto Show, companies like Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. embarked upon a multi-brand strategy and that is to unveil as many as 22 new cars. The new cars that visitors will get to see in this show include names like Geely’s Gleagle, eight new models under the Emgrand brand, three new models under the Shanghai Englon brand and a new Formula One concept car.
Another update about the Shanghai Auto Motor Show is that Geely has not yet indicated which of its vehicles will be considered as production models and which will be considered as concepts. On the other hand, Chery Automobile Co. too has similar plans. It will be displaying 32 new models under four badges in this show. Moreover, Dongfeng Motor Corp. will be debuting its first own-brand sedan at this motor show.
