Chevrolet announced one of its storied monikers in the illustrious racing heritage of Corvette- the Grand Sport at the Corvette Birthday Bash in Kentucky.
The Grand Sport is styled with a wide body and has a racetrack like suspension which makes it a distinctive performer. It would be available in both convertible and coupe body styles and in both manual and automatic transmission. The engine capacity is 6.2 L and with the exhaust system meeting the standards, it is at 430 horsepower which can be elevated to 436 horsepower rating by a two-mode exhaust system which is optional.
The wheels of the new Corvette are very wide. Interestingly, it offers enhanced handling performance as compared to the previous version of the Corvette-the Z51.
The Grand Sport features a unique combination of performance and services. The roofs on the coupes are removable and the Z06 comes with the only choice of manual transmission. The coup models have a dry oiling system and differential cooler plus a battery which is mounted at the rear. The Grand sport is available in four trim levels which include all that it generally offers, in all standard Corvette colours.
It has a revised shock and a stabilizer bar. The specific gearing enhances its cornering as well as the acceleration capabilities. It is fitted with splitter on the front and tall spoilers on the rear. The brake ducts are functional and have extra cooling. The wheels have a standard painted finish and an optional chrome finish.
