The automotive industry with their dashing models in cars and bikes, the spectators and the admirers all are set to have some grand time spent and enjoyed in the Qatar Motor Show 2012. It is at the Doha Exhibitions Centre (DEC) where the motor show was made open for all since last Monday, i.e., 23^rd January to 28^th of January and the show, as expected was rocking that showcased different designs in the classic cars, super cars, concept cars, motor bikes and prototypes. The designs in the motors introduced by the Italian designers are other points of attraction of the exhibition.

More than simply being a car exhibition event, there were lot other things like signing new agreements, revealing the secret of would-be launches, announcements on the launch of new ideas and concept cars and showcasing the best inclusions by the renowned motor manufacturers. In context of the motor show, the Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority, Mr. Ahmed Al Nuaimi said that this is one of the not to miss events for anybody who loves machines and engines, who has a craze and expertise in technologies and is adventure seeker.

The event started with a 2nd Middle East Automotive Summit titled as ‘The New Age of Mobility’ that was being taken part and hosted with speeches by internationally famous motor industry leaders like Qatar Shell, Qatar AG and VW Group. The show was led by the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani. The Qatar Shell played its role as the Diamond Sponsor of the 2012 Qatar Motor Show, the Qatar Holding LLC is the Main Sponsor and the Official Hotel Partner is the W Doha Hotel & Residences. Chevrolet has some great ideas behind its sleeve which it will soon unveil in the form of its upcoming Corvette series car, the Corvette C7. By not making public much about the car, its mechanism and functioning, the GM of Chevrolet is trying to keep it a secret and that definitely is one of those business tricks used for arousing anxiety and curiosity among the admirers. The car is expected to release as a 2014 model and may hit the market by the fall of next year.

Although much about the car is not revealed, still from the little bit of hints given by the GM, the placement of the engine will remain in the front of the car like the other cars of the series. The experts and executives are also of the opinion that this model will stick to the front engine idea only where the engine will take pace under the long hood of the Corvette C7.

However, the split rear window design that has been witnessed in the 1963 Corvette is not going to be found in the new car. In place of that many chances are there, as depicted by the fresh picture of the prototype, of placing a solid rear window. The window will slope sharply into the decklid.

Now, all we can do is to wait for a complete look of the car and it hitting the market.

Nissan

The new introduction from the house of Nissan will be a completely new and out of this world concept that will bring great enhancement in the technical capacity of the car. Named to be a Pathfinder, the very new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder will surely be awaited eagerly as the revolution in the technology will show use of a Monocoque chassis (unibody) in place of the Navara framework. Another introduction by Nissan would be an e-NV200 small van concept.

Ford

This auto show by Detroit has turned into a biggest platform for Ford where they are commencing the birth of the Ford Fusion. From the use of the technologies and the comfort level promised by the Fusion, the capacity of the next-generation Ford Mondeo can very well be guessed. However, the developments and the style used in the Fusion can be seen to be influenced by the recently launched Ford models Focus, Escape and Evos.

Hyundai

Hyundai undoubtedly is the best and world famous Korean manufacturer that is launching its brand new Veloster Turbo in the Detroit Show. The selling and availability of the model have already been confirmed to Australia and is special for its use of 1.6 T-GDI powerplant.

Toyota

Toyota will launch it’s another hit, a hybrid car, the NS4 and is sure to be sporty and unique in its technologies and functioning. The features of the car have not yet been revealed but still it can be hoped to be inspired by the existing models like Prius, Prius V and Prius C.

Mercedes-Benz / Smart

Marcedes is bringing a very new model to the market made of an aluminum body, a new SL Roadster along with two E-Class hybrids. The aluminum body of the car is making it weigh lighter than the previous model although it is a bit longer than the other. The first market to hit by this Roadster would be the Australian market and that is expected to be by the third quarter of 2012.

The other two hybrids- the E300 and E400 hybrids will carry an application of electric motor in an E-Class and this would be the first of its type. The hybrids will have a 2.1-litre turbodiesel (E300) and a 3.5-litre V6 (E400).

Chevrolet

The Chevrolet showcased its Sonic RS which also even gives a little bit of hint on its another new arrival the Holden Barina SRi. The Holden is in agreement to be sold in North America, but have no plans for Australia which will be decided after seeing the response in Detroit.

Dodge

Dodge Dart compact sedan, showcased in the auto show is a must-watch and worth-admire which has replaced its earlier model Caliber.

Lexus

Lexus is introducing its new the Lexus LF-LC which can be termed as a cross between an IS250 and an LFA.

Honda / Acura

Honda is showing hopes to its admirers of a new Accord Coupe concept that most positively can be expected by mid-2012. On the other hand, Acura is up with the next-generation hybrid, named, NSX.

MINI

Mini, a BMW product will this time bring forward a MINI Roadster, a lovely and sporty two-seater that may carry a 1.6-litre petrol engine.

Audi

Audi too is not legging behind and is up with some concept about its future new generation car, though not much is made clear and known.

Volvo

Volvo will also have hybrid line-up and strategy to put light on in Detroit.
