The Washington Auto Show which held from 27 to 31 January is known to be the perfect platform for new models. The Washington Convention Center was the venue for this year’s show. The influx of billions of dollars from Capitol Hill has meant that this year edition would be of a much higher profile. Over 700 cars of different make and model from over 42 domestic and foreign auto-giants were put on display.
The Washington Area Automotive Dealers Association is the sponsors of this prestigious show. Some Special guests including the speaker of the Capitol Hill as well as the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency made their appearance at the show. The Auto Show also saw live entertainment and promotional activities for the children. The theme for this year’s auto show was “Change Happens Here”.
The exhibit also had electric cars that were shown in the Detroit Motor Show. The situation of the local car dealers is quite grim at the moment and they are expecting that this year’s show would boost the car sales which are down by 19 percent. Since the last edition of the show, about 25 local dealers have wound up their business. Industry experts are hoping that the Washington Auto Show would see an increase in the attendance leading to an upswing in the local car sales.
